Restrictions on Data Centers

Data centers are not paying their fair share. We know that they get millions of dollars of tax breaks, use our water, use our electricity, and create a lot of well paid but short-term jobs.

Before green-lighting a new data center, I will demand transparency from the company. No more hiding behind NDAs. We need clarity on how much data centers are providing to us and what they are using.

In addition to demanding clarity. We also need to stop giving immense tax breaks to data centers. Tax breaks of $50 and $100 million are not fair when small businesses that actually move our economy are struggling to get a break.
